Employment credit check any advice

Hi I am hoping someone can help with this, particularly those in HR or work at recruitment agencies!
I have been offered a new job subject to checks which I get including a credit check. Now my credit history is rubbish and I have been completely honest about this. I had 2 ccj's drop off my file well over a year ago and non on there now, have never been declared insolvent and have never had any involvement in financial crimes.
I am told that this is what they are looking for and are not looking at missed payments etc.
What exactly do they see in these checks? And can this be a sole reason to retract a job offer even if all your other checks come back squeaky clean which I know mine will.

It will depend on the job, if you are the Chief Finance Manager you'd have a problem. If it's a role without financial responsibility you'll be fine. Without knowing more about the type of job or role it's hard to tell

It's a switchboard operator for a large pensions saving and investment company so basically forwarding calls to the right team.
I could only wish for the brains of a chief financial manager!

If CCJs are expired and the role doesn't have access to money you should be ok
