Hi there, I am currently on maternity leave earning the basic maternity allowance from the government which means I do not have to return to my job if I choose not to. I have decided to register as a child mind instead but do not plan to start taking on any children until after my maternity leave stops in September. My question is.. Am I able to start the registration process for becoming a child minder while still getting the maternity leave money or will this mean it stops. Again, I do not plan to start working or earning until after my maternity leave finishes I just want to get registered so that the registration is thorough in time.

Any advise would be great thanks!
Thanks :)

Yes, you can. However, there is no way you'll be registered by September.

Yea you can, but as PP said, it can take months (and months ).

Agree with iheart, fine to start the registration process, but you won't be registered by September.
