Can you pay redundancy payment early?

Our nanny is going to be leaving us and has asked whether she could have her redundancy money before her leaving date. I can't see why not - does anyone know whether this would affect it being tax free?

I've googled but haven't come up with anything.

I don't think they can have it until the final payroll has been run.
It should really be paid on the payment date of that final payslip but only you and them will know if you pay it earlier.

Call your nanny payroll provider to discuss the redundancy process, if you have not done so already. They will be able to tell you when the final payslip can be produced and thus you will then know how much to pay your nanny.
