I currently work 30 hours a week so dh (who works 37.5 hours) takes 3 dc to school every day and picks up one day. I pick up the other 4 days. This has been working well and has been in place since January (previously I did 20 hours). I'm loving my job and am thinking about going for a promotion that I feel ready for and would mean a lot more money. It would have to be full time though and dc are only 8 and 5 (just finishing reception). They've had me at home for 3 years as I worked freelance but minimal work from home to keep my hand in and I do feel lucky to have had that time. It's a good balance currently but now this opportunity is here I can't help be excited but also selfish and I worry the dc will look back and think I didn't spend enough time with them.
Dh is supportive but people are generally shocked I have 3dc and work the 30 hours so I'm wondering if I'm being totally mad to consider it. Any thoughts?
