Childminders and car seats

DS2 is about to go into a second stage car seat - he's currently in one of the rear facing ones, which we take round to the child minders. This won't be practical with the new car seat but I was anxious about getting one that would fit in my car, DH's and the CM's. However, she has said not to worry because she will buy one for her car; I offered to pay for it or to go halves but she said no, it was her responsibility

This is of course, wonderful, but hardly seems fair on her, even though it will be of use to her long term. Is this normal practice? I don't want to take advantage

Thanks

I dont send my Ds to a childminder but my sister does. She went out and brought one for her chilminder to use when her DD went into next stage seat. Although she did find it expensive buying herself and childminder one. Will you have a say in the type of seat she buys because there are so many out there. Would she buy a cheap one? Think it's great she has offered to buy one for you though

Presumably the CM will be able to use this with other children she minds either now or in the furture? If so, I guess she can use it as a tool of the job, and if self employed will be able to claim back tax as well - I suspect anyway.
