Career change

Not sure if posting in right topic....
I'm 42 and I've been in my current job for 26 years doing accounts!!! hate it!

Looking for ideas to possible start my own business. Possibly a stationery business, making wedding invitations.
Has anyone took the plunge after been in a job for years doing something completely different?

I haven't personally but know someone who did. She worked in accounts since leaving school and hated it. 13 years ago she decided to set up a dog walking/sitting business and hasn't looked back. She loves it. Go for it. Good luck x

I started my own business 4 years ago at the ripe old age of 48! You can do it. I moved from IT to working as a confidence coach for women who want to change career or start a business. I'm also a qualified breastfeeding counsellor and do quite a bit of work in this area - training peer supporters and antenatal sessions. But my main focus is my coaching business. What sort of experience do you have with making wedding invitations? From having created my own stationery in the past, I know it can be time-consuming. It could be worth chatting to some wedding planners and getting their thoughts on handmade stationery.

What appeals to you about stationery? One thing I always suggest to my clients is to create a Hell Yes, Hell No list. List all your skills and talents and put them in the Hell Yes column (you love them and could do all day), Hell No (never again) or Maybe (not fussed). Include everything. Think too about the type of environment you want to work in (office, outdoors, on your own, in a team) and see what other ideas pop up.
