Part time/Term Time FTE for school jobs - holidays

Quick question for Mumsnetters who are part-time/term-time employed in the school system.

If a job is advertised as 39 weeks/year, is that usually inclusive or exclusive of paid holidays?

I would assume 39 weeks is full time during school terms, and then you get your annual leave and BH allowance on top of that, taking your payments to around 43-45 weeks per year (depending on leave allowances and how they work out BH), spread out over 52 weeks.

Can anyone confirm?

Thanks!

It usually includes pay for holiday so you work 39 weeks but get paid for (say) 45 weeks. You don't get to choose when to take that holiday though as you get the school holidays. Any term time leave would usually be unpaid (except sickness).

And yes pay spread out over the year so you get paid in August even though you don't work then.

Cool, that's what I thought. Thanks so much.
