Return to work

I'm due to return to work from mat leave in August.

I applied for a more junior role at the company I am at agreed hours and money and were in final stages of agreement.

I've just had an email to ask if I would consider returning to my old role part time, but for less money.

Surely that can't just cut my wages like that?

I'm sure there may be a way round t like changing some details but essentially they have ask me to consider this offer.

Assuming the job is the same, are you sure they don't mean less money as in on a pro rata basis, so your full time equivalent salary would be the same as it was?

You are entitled to either the same job back or an equivalent on the same terms and conditions depending on how long you've had off. Doesn't sound like you want that though?

Have you asked them why the proposed salary they are offering is lower than for the same role on a FT basis?
