Hi All

Any ideas what a 30 minute Skills test (computer based) would entail?

Person spec states: proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel,
Outlook and PowerPoint, and keenness to lean new software as required.

Depends what the job is!

They might ask you to write a letter to someone if job involves that. Or they may get you to copy a passage to see how quickly and accurately you type.

Excel - you may be given some data to put into a spreadsheet and you could be asked questions about the data that you would need to solve with formulas.

Word - type up and format a letter.

Excel - put together a simple spreadsheet, sort data, use formulas.

Outlook - send an email, set up a task list, put appointments in the diary with reminders.

PowerPoint - Input a basic presentation and present it as a slideshow, possibly with animation, and notes.
