AIBU to return to work after baby.

My baby is currently 11 weeks old. I have been contacted by a company looking for someone for a fixed term contract to start in 5 weeks time, for 6-9 months. This would be a huge cash injection for my partner and I and by putting the money away would really take pressure off us.
My partner is not keen to leave baby in child care and has said he would rather stay at home, which would defeat the purpose of working for the cash boost! I have suggested he works a 3 day week and a family member does 1 day. Then childcare is only 2 days a week. As a result we would be over 2k a month up.

Am I being unreasonable ?

No you're not, but as a pp said he's not being unreasonable wanting to take the rest of the leave himself either. What did he say to the 3 days a week working/2 days a week of childcare?
