Figuring out the figures

Hi! I am due to return to work in July following a third maternity leave. My employer offers salary sacrifice/childcare vouchers and also a (taxable) cash childcare allowance. I can apply for either or both.
I am trying to work out which is the most beneficial, along with my pro rata salary, in order to work out if I can afford to hire a nanny (as well as working out the figures for this).

I am tying myself up in knots - I have number blindness - calculations have never been my strong point, and there's so much riding on the figures being accurate - I'm getting v stressed.

So, this is a very long-winded way of asking who should I approach for help. Accountant? Tax adviser? I'm sure it's a minor job for someone who knows what they're doing. I'm just not sure if anyone does this kind of thing?

I've never heard of a taxable cash childcare allowance

Can your HR department not help at all?
