Was wondering if someone could help.

Once you have been off sick and qualified for SSP, i know it can be paid up to 28 weeks could someone tell me if the second bout of sickness has to be for a certain length of time or can people be paid for 1 individual day?

My friend was off for 2 weeks so was paid SSP and has had 1 day off sick so just wondered if that can be covered under SSP instead of it being unpaid?

Sorry if its a silly question, im not sure exactly how it works.

Thank you!

First three days of any sick period are unpaid - unless it relates directly to the preceding sickness. It would therefore depend why she was off.
