Medicolegal advisors

Are there any doctors out there who have retrained as medicolegal advisors? I am a part time NHS consultant and am feeling increasingly frustrated with the system and worried about burnout. I'd really like to hear about people's reasons to leave medicine to work in medicolegal, the positive and negative aspects of your new career and if you would recommend it. How does it compare with medicine for work-life balance? Thanks very much in advance.

Anyone? Or any doctors who have changed careers?

I would suggest asking on DNUK rather than here for this one. I'm an ex-UK GP now enjoying life in Australia.

Dear consultant,
I am also a doctor (SHO), and am considering branching off into an alternative career - in particular very interested in medicolegal careers. I wonder if you have managed to look into this further? I have done a some reading, but it seems impossible to actually get hold of a medicolegal advisor and ask all the burning questions I have. I am attending the "Diversify 2016" conference - for doctors considering alternative careers, and I hear it is very helpful. You should consider attending if you havent already.
If you do have any more light to shed on medicolegal careers, please do let me know! My email is [email protected]

I would be grateful for any advice or knowledge at all.
Kindest regards,
Safia
