Quick question about references

I'm doing my latest cv and having only worked part time for the last few years have put my current manager for one reference. Am planning on putting close friend of many years for the other, is that ok and should I put their home or professional address?
Previous employment was over 8 years ago.

2nd reference will be a character reference, which should be fine unless prospective employers specifically want 2 previous employers (which is rare IME).. I'd give their professional address, it looks better.
