Been made redundant tonight.

Been made redundant from my part time work tonight, have been here for 6 yrs.

Gutted as it fits in so well around Uni and just covers my childcare bill. Plus I have fab mates here.

Cant cope with having to find another part time job..

Oh Emma! So sorry to hear this. I know there's never a good time for this, but honestly, that's a nightmare right now.

Hope you are getting a decent pay off and some outplacement support to find something else.

Oh what a nightmare. THe timing really is horrible too isn't it?

My friend's dh has just been made redundant too and they are already struggling through her being on maternity leave.

i know that I will find other work eventually, just hope that I can find something that will fit in around my course.

Why this just five days before xmas??? Been a good girl all year aswell!

feel much more positive this morning, I have worked out that I will get a fairly decent payoff ( only about 3k- but its better than nothing!) and have just spoken to the manager of the local BUPA care home ( about a 5 min walk away from my house) and she has asked me to pop in to pick up a form for Bank Care Assistant. So maybe its not going to be so bad after all???

I know how you feel tm I was made redundant a few weeks ago, hadn't been there long enough to get any redundancy pay either

Companies always seem to announce redundancies just before Christmas. I hope you get something soon (fingers crossed for you)

I hope so, ill do anything really to keep the money coming in, as long as I can get around £400 pcm, we sould be ok, if not- we are buggered and ill have to leave Uni. which is the very last thing that i want to do.

Big sympathy to you tiredemma. I was given notice that the company I work for is closing down in March. At least I have a bit of notice to get something else organised, but it is a real pain.
Will keep fingers crossed that you find something else that will work around uni.
