Statutory maternity leave

Hi, not sure if I'm posting this in the right place but I just wanted to ask - if you have statutory maternity leave, if after a year off you decide not to return to work am I right in thinking you don't have to pay any of the money back?
At the moment me and my other half aren't sure if I will return or not because I maybe don't make enough to make it worthwhile when you factor in the cost of child care.

Do you mean statutory maternity pay? If you just got the basic amount of money then no, you don't need to pay any back

Yes sorry that's what I meant Smile
