Oh help....a rock & a hard place

I employ 6 people

1 of them has been with me for ages
1 started 3 weeks ago

First employee has very bad asthma and this has got really bad over the last few weeks

newer employee has a horse

First employee has been carted off to hospital to be nebulised

I think she is allergic to second employee

What are my duties/responsibilities etc as an employer??

I'd insist on fresh uniform, changed into at work for a starting point...for everyone

I'm not actually sure you do have any responsibilities as an employer, as it's not because of you that she is having asthma attacks iyswim. you could certainly have a word with your employee and ask her to maybe keep a spare change of clothes in the office to change into if she comes in just after having been with the horse, but other than that I'm not really sure there's anything else - you can't get rid of either of them as this could put you in a bad light legally.

She could get rid of the one who started 3 weeks ago perfectly legally, but I think a better solution would be to highlight the possible allergy issue and and do the uniform thing.

no2 already showers and changes before coming
