Hi, just need to vent with my fellow mn'ers and also perhaps a bit of advise.
i work 2 days pt and have done since April this year. last week was told my role was redundant and the people that did it were going to be moved within the co. However, i was told they would like me to change my days. I said, i would have to think about it due to childcare commitments etc. Have some solid childcare (well as solid as it can be) in place that me,dh and lo are happy with and suits us all fine. Spoke to new team leader this week, she said she was happy with the fact i couldnt change and would review it in new year. Today my new team leader called me up and said she needed me to work next fri - one of the days i have been asked to swap to permanantly. i said i would speak to her when i am next in. she was all in a tiss about something, but dont know what.
the thing is, i really dont want to change my days; but i know if i dont i will get the push. Also, thinking about trying for another baby in not too distant future so need the mat money and we also would like to move house.
I am fuming that i have been put into this situation and know i need to at least sit tight for a few more months but i am that our routine will be upset.

any suggestions anyone?

which 2 days of the week do you work ?

I only ask because I hve noticed that a lot of part-timers work Mondays in particular and employers are becoming more aware that this is not a good idea as they will pay for 3 bank holiday Mondays that staff will not be working or pay premium rates if you work Mondays regardless.

Across a large organisation the cost of this can add up.

hi kt -currently work Mon & Wed. They would like me to work Mon & Fri. Dont think it is to do with the bank hols. Has been said these are the busiest days; which of course makes perfect sense to the organisation to ask me to do those days. i think it is probably true. just
