Hi, my husband is in the process of doing his tax return and giving it in to the accountant. I just wanted to check how other self employed people deal with a few things. The tax credits tax year is from April to April, but the self assessment from July to July. So do we just make an estimate for the amount in the tax credits year as we've done for the tax credits past year assessment. Also is it a good idea to claim marriage allowance? Any advice from those in a similar situation welcome.
