School Business Manager

Just applied for a job as school business manager for a small primary school (120 pupils) after being a full time Mum, living overseas and out of the workplace for 10 years. I was a finance officer for a primary school for 14 months in 2006 and my background is banking and accounting. During the last 10 years I have done voluntary work and acted as treasurer etc on a few committees but starting to panic as there will be a test!
Have been searching the internet to try an update myself on health and safety, budgeting etc etc but does anyone out there have any experience of what the questions are likely to be?? I am enthusiastic and a quick learner but being out of the workplace does drain your confidence! Thanks so much.

The questions will ordinarily be based around the core competencies of the role (not all school business managers do the same), so a review of the JD should help you there. Your finance skills should cover that base, your other experiences should allow you to cover the remaining. Good luck!
