NHS workers working Boxing Day (falls on a Saturday this year). Confused.

Hi,

I am on the rota to work Boxing Day this year (NHS) that happens to fall on a Saturday. Under AFC we now get a day off during the week if we work a Saturday or a Sunday. As Boxing Day is a bank holiday this year I do not get a day off during the week, for working it, and I understand will keep it as a lieu day. Staff working the Sunday (27th) have been allocated a day off during the week to compensate. As for the 26th, the other staff (full time) working with me are also not getting a day off in the week (but they will keep the day as lieu leave).

However, I have noticed that the Monday (28th December) is also a bank holiday and that the full timers (including those that will be working with me on the 26th) will have a day off 'in lieu of the 26th'. I don't work on a Monday (part time). What should happen? It looks like I only get one day lieu but others will get 2. Should I be given a day off during the week instead of the Monday?

So confused. Haven't mentioned it at work but this is the first time Boxing Day has fallen on a Saturday since new AFC shifts came in.

Help :-)
