So my lg is 7 months old and I'm looking to return to work in a november 3 days a week. I've been sat here tonight working out how much we will have coming in and are outgoings etc and I just don't know how we are going to do it. It looks like I will be better off if I don't return to work but I really don't want to do this, we had our beautiful lg and I want to provide for her.

I know there is nothing anyone can do, just wanted to somewhere to vent!!! Lol

Try not to think of your outgoings in the short term, but in the long term- over the next 10 or 20 years, will you earn more because your earning capacity is greater having stayed in work, or will you earn less due to having taken time out?

Yes, think of it in terms of your career progression and how it will set you up to have greater earning potential later. Also, childcare gets cheaper as they get older so it's really only for the first two years that it costs a load. From 3 she will get a certain amount of hours fee. Currently it's 15 and may go up more in the future.
