new job woes

I'm currently in a new job where I've been for 3 months. it's a nice workplace and a good job but I'm the situation that I only basically have work in the mornings or afternoons, otherwise I'm sat literally twiddling my thumbs.

I've asked about more work (no response) tried to create work, hard.

Is it ok for me to think about leaving and see an agency about a new job?

Is it a place where you could be getting on with job applications etc? (Covertly of course!)

I saw an agency the other day.

strangely enough the boss outlined his plans for the future a couple of days ago and this now involves us helping the accounts side (we're legal/solicitors side), which is all great but I don't want to be an accounts assistant.

My job is kind of like this, spend 2 days a week just waiting for emails or calls if there's nothing going on, have enrolled on a distance learning course and now my 2 daysish are spent doing that - something to pop on my cv. If, by the time I'm finished it it's still the same, I'll be looking around elsewhere.

Do they have any online training or something? You can spend the time boosting your skills.

On Friday we had the talk from the MD re us helping so I'll see how that goes... I did want to be trained in HR so maybe now's the time to ask about that and if they'd pay for it. HR person when I mentioned it before said yes re training.
