Why is she talking about pay rises and bonuses? Surely FL just pays commission? And do you have to pay for all your stock upfront first? You can't take a salary from the company and yet say you are running your own business. Confused

I don't understand why they always bang on about having more time with the family either - surely in order to work up enough initial custom you need to put in all the hours God sends before you can be really successful - certainly until you've got enough schmucks in your 'team' to do all the work for you? And most people are now wise to the not too subtle signs of a FL cult member trying to recruit them for their own ends, and they run a mile. Trying to build a team must be exhausting and relentless and a bit demoralising when everyone immediately says 'Oh no, not Forever Living!' and holds out a crucifix and a piece of garlic and backs a way slowly.

They always make it sound like you can immediately just sit back and relax, maybe fiddle around for 5 hours a week doing some work and the money just prints itself. Hmm

I will never understand people who fall for this nonsense. Surely after they've exhausted all their friends and contacts who might buy something once just to be polite and supportive but really don't need a lifetime's supply of aloe stuff, and they've recruited a few of the more feeble minded of their friends and family to 'work for them' - oh, hang on I thought they all worked for themselves? Confused then pretty soon they are all trying to sell the the same overlapping circle of contacts and the whole thing implodes on itself.

As far as I can see the only long term winners here are the owners of FL themselves and the relatively small handful who were in at the very beginning. They probably don't give a shit if it all implodes eventually because they've already milked it and are on a yacht somewhere with a margarita in their hand.

HoneyDragon I know it's a while back but your "13million" made me snort my aloe free tea Grin

Annie65 · 04/08/2015 09:36

Lunaielle I thought the same thing, she wants winding up, not a good advert for a business, and how can she sack the boss if she is a child-minder, unless she has sacked herself. Very strange Hmm

IsItMeOrIsItHotInHere · 04/08/2015 11:33

She was working for her mother doing childminding in her mother's house by the sounds of things. 'Sack the Boss' is just some stupid catchphrase these people dream up as a way of saying 'you can stick it to the man, you don't have to take any crap from anyone in your boring drudgey job any more.'

I'd love to know how many FL distributors have actually sacked the boss ie. resigned from a proper full time job with a salary because they had already reached a point where they made more money through selling FL.

Very, very few I would imagine. Although I imagine it's a handy 'self employed' status to have if you want maximum working tax credits for your six children with minimum effort and actual work.

Toobusytowee · 04/08/2015 13:37

My FL bot did leave her job instead of returning to work after maternity leave. She doesn't need to work because she's relying on her husband's wage. They're talking about him leaving at Christmas because she should be earning loads then. We'll see.

Twolefttoes · 04/08/2015 13:41

Almost daily I get a surprise at which of my seemingly intelligent fb friends have now become pedlars and get a little bit more disappointed each day.

These are normal, intelligent, educated women, why are they being sucked in and why do they think its okay to now just sell to all of their friends? I can't believe they aren't cringing as they post, but they really don't seem to be, I am amazed. It really is complete brainwashing.

WidowWadman · 04/08/2015 19:11

My FLbot is on her 5th or 6th exciting opportunity which she pretends to make tons of money with. I'm still not sure if she's cynically exploiting the gullible or believes in that shit for real.

nousernamesleft · 04/08/2015 19:23

My local flbot is currently twittering at everyone about younique crap. She's done fl, juice plus, arbonne, and multiple others. If I get one more pm from her telling me that her amazing product can cure my ds I'm going to take every one of her products and shove them so far up her arse she'll be able to taste them and may well have pm'd her back last time telling her exactly that

HoneyDragon · 04/08/2015 19:50

I don't mind younique so much, that's like Avon but for the yoof. It's the others that bug me.

ThisIsClemFandango · 04/08/2015 20:02

I have a JuicePlus friend, is that the same sort of thing? She is completely and utterly brainwashed by it all.
This is her latest FB update:

I have one space on my team this month for a motivated individual.
Who wants to join me?
No boss
100% flexible
80k of bonuses to earn
Amazing training and development

Travel the world
Ready to grab an amazing opportunity?
PM me for more details

From what I can gather, she hasn't travelled anywhere, hasn't had a bonus of ££££ and is the only person on her 'team' Grin

AbsentMindedNumpty · 05/08/2015 10:23

Good holiday reading.. Grin

Stitchintime1 · 05/08/2015 10:48

I love it

Annie65 · 05/08/2015 15:24

Does any1 know what this periscope is? They are all talking about it, they can watch each other talking on it and doing training. Is it just for Fl or can any1 go on it? I would love to have a nosy.

Groovee · 05/08/2015 16:26

The new Le-vel bot is posting how much it has changed her life in just 3 weeks!

firebladeklover · 05/08/2015 16:33

I was wondering that too, could you even make the equivalent of minimum wage per hour X 40 (hours) because if you had NO travel expenses and no childcare costss, that might be ok.

But can anybody make even £280 a week? Has anybody ever made even minimum wage selling this stuff.

Stitchintime1 · 05/08/2015 17:31

Apparently there is money to be made when you are running the seminars and charging attendance prices. They call those events training but I think they are more like revival meetings.

honeysucklejasmine · 05/08/2015 17:56

Annie65 periscope is an app where you can broadcast through your phone. Streaming direct from your phone, rather than uploading a video.

Annie65 · 05/08/2015 22:19

Thanks Honey. My phone isnt that modern lol. Shame , will have to stick to fb.

mindfulandgrateful · 05/08/2015 22:32

Not only is this woman is totally identifiable but also not very far from me at all geographically and it would take me minutes to not only get address but to get to her front door aswell.....

I don't reckon her chances of mega bucks with such a poor level of insight.

For goodness sake OP at least protect your children.

I HATE Forever Living. It's whole business model is vile and exploitative of women. My FLBot is someone I did NCT classes with. She's very nice but young (21 maybe?) and (I genuinely don't mean this in a nasty way) not very well educated. Baby's dad isn't on the scene and she became desperate for a way to earn money whilst not having to pay out money for childcare. She has been sucked in by a Forever Living rep and now genuinely seems to believe that she will soon be earning fantastic money whilst working from home and that her and her baby's financial future is sound. So she is now a FLBot and is recruiting other (often vulnerable women) to also be Forever Living reps. Plus of course makes her money by convincing women with body hangups with some pseudo-science that by buying some ridiculously expensive lotion or potion they can cure weight gain, or wrinkles, or some other product that plays on women's anxieties. The whole business model just seems to work by preying on vulnerable, poorly-educated, body-anxious women. And the real icing on the shit cake is that in all the Forever Living propaganda it has the nerve to state that it is a business model about 'empowering women'.

VulcanWoman · 07/08/2015 10:16

It's nearly £6 for a bar of soap!

Stitchintime1 · 07/08/2015 10:21

I second all that m

KitKat1985 · 07/08/2015 12:32

This is good picture illustrating how quickly a pyramid selling scheme that works on the basis of recruiting 6 people collapses. Although obviously in reality most rarely progress more than a few levels before the number of people to recruit becomes unsustainable and the 'pyramid' collapses. I suspect Forever Living must be getting close to that point of collapse now.

IsItMeOrIsItHotInHere · 07/08/2015 13:12

There must be at least a few FL reps reading this - are none of them going to come on the thread to defend this system they believe so strongly in? If not why not? Surely you have a simple explanation of why we are all wrong?

Do some of you make good money without needing to re ruin anyone and just selling among your own network of friends and contacts? I genuinely would like to know.
