Should I ring them or not?

not sure if to ring, and if I do how long to wait.

I applied for a little p/t job in tescos' on a w/e so DH can have the boy and we can have a little spare cash floating about, anyhow, I sent in my application not last friday the one before (10th?) on the monday after that w/e I had a thanks for your application we'll get back to you etc letter. friday I went into get a few bits n bobs and they've taken down the flyers advertising the jobs. to date i've not heard anything - would it be too mcuh to ring yet? (not sure how you go about these things as i've always just sent in the CV and had a letter straight back/found work thru agencies.)

after all this time i'm only expecting a thanks but no thanks letter but it would be nice to know- and also as our post seems slack (ctf sent me a voucher on the 28th oct and i'm yet to get it) I wouldn't want an interview request to be sent out nad me not go cos I didn't get the letter iycwim, cos I'd like to go.

so what should I do? wait a bit longer?

no harm in ringing- you're not hassling them if you ring once; you can tell them your post is un reliable, and you wouldn't want to miss an interview

Agree with Tissy - na harm in ringing but I wouldn't ring more than once. I work in recruitment and get v annoyed with persistent callers - particularly if you have told them when they can expect to hear something during the first phone call. Also, bear in mind that some companies don't send 'thanks but no thanks' letters - they expect you to assume that if you don't hear, you have been unsuccessful.

well XS - I was half thinking that but they did say they'd contact me in due course??

will wait for todays post them brave giving them a call - as I say i'm not expecting an interview or anything, I just sort of expected to know either way
