Tough day at the office

Having a tough time getting on with things at work and can't seem to snap out of it.
Just need to have a good moan tbh; overworked, under appreciated, trying to finish a qualification before making any decisions about my work future but getting nowhere with support from the college ... it's all getting a bit much.
It's all smiles today as we have HR on site, and an audit taking place (these are exclusive from each other), and then tomorrow it will be back to normal spending my time mostly being ignored by my Manager.

Oh dear, being frustrated at work is very stressful! Do you have outside work activities to take your mind off it?

I do have family and home bits, and for proper down time for just me I do card making and some crochet, just feels like there's been barely time for any of that.

We're taking stock as a family about work issues as my husband has the same issues but on a larger scale and we realise the impact it's having at home has gone unchecked and become unacceptable.
Just needed to vent [hmmm]

We've had some good news that my husband is getting an interview for another job, and the sunshine is helping to brighten up my outlook.
Life gets a bit overwhelming sometimes doesn't it.

I'm mum to a soon to 7year old, with a 30hr week paid job. My husband and I work in different departments in the same place which can be a help and a hindrance

I'm a civil servant! Work has its ups and downs, same as any job. I've found that exercise is a good way to switch off, work out any frustrations, and generally recharge. I'm not as good as taking enough exercise as I should, though!

Sometimes it helps just to vent. I'm also experiencing work place stress I work three days a week but end up taking work home and doing things at the weekend. I have an 18 month old daughter to care for and feel guilty when my mind is on work when I should be spending time with her. Try to plan something nice to do all as a family, just a suggestion. Take care.

I try very hard to spend time on myself with cycling (in my front room!) trying to get fitter, and it does help, when I get round to doing it .

What has helped is having my son's 7th b-day yesterday, with a second planned day out this Saturday and then it's dh b-day on 31st so have booked us all to go out for a meal.
I've also taken to just sitting down in front of the tv with my son and/or husband to watch something from start to finish. That may well sound odd but so many times I get up 'just to do that thing that will take a moment', instead I write it down now and do it later, then cross through as done.
I have never had my dream job, probably because aside from being a mum I have no idea what that job would be, but at least I have a job . I'm hopeful that heading towards 40 there is still the possibility that the ideal job is out there for me.
