Hi Group - I've had an idea for an app.... however... I have no real idea how to go about constructing one.. Has anyone on here ever made an app, or know where I might start? It's so frustrating to have had what I consider to be a great idea and be stuck at the first hurdle cos of having been left well and truly behind in the tech world!! lol..... grrrr...

I've been developing software for more than ten years.

It's hard to give specific advice without knowing more details about the application but if you have never coded before unless it's very simple you might find it dificujlt to produce a commercial robuts application.

That said take a look at sites like Linda.com for training or PhoneGap for cross platform development. There are also some 'code camp' type courses that may help take a look on Eventbrite for onen near you.
