OMG I just want out....

So very fed up. I work in a team where there are less and less of us and we have work just piled upon us. It's exhausting and stressful, I am 53 feel I have had enough and just want out.
I just wished we could have another round of redundancies which now won't happen as they win more contracts round the country since we were outsourced but they never increase the staff levels to go with this.
Being competent I get extra duties which pisses me off no end...I have got to go, feeling totally wracked off, sorry for the rant and I have had a glass of wine or 2 having had such a crappy day.
What's keeping me? Flexibility and the pay....smoething has got to give.

What are you waiting for? You are assuming you won't get the flexibility or pay anywhere else...

Feel for you op. I'm 34 and a community mental health nurse- feel exactly the same at the moment!Sad

Is it like this everywhere? Are most teams under such pressure? The company I work for take on more and more work (great) and make more money but just don't staff accordingly. Their answer is we will monitor and new systems will make things faster so it shouldn't be an issue, new systems take forever.
My contract is that I take some of the summer off, I am feeling bad about this knowing that it will all be there when I get back due to other staff not being able to do their own let alone my work.
I must get looking....

IME yes, a lot companies are like this. People are getting very fed up though. i am on a contract and will be walking soon for this very reason.

Not really sure what you're asking?

If you feel like you're being treated unfairly, i.e. overworked then raise the issue informally. If you're not satisfied with the outcome, raise a formal grievance.

Or leave.
