Since I started back at work 2 months ago both kids have had a run of illness - I have probably only been there 50% of the time due to being off with them. I was off last week with DS and now DD has come home from nursery with high temp, hacking cough and is very drowsy.

I feel like I REALLY cant take any more time off after last week - my employers (small business) have already been on checking I can do tomorrow as they have various customers lined up for me, I said yes so its all arranged (didnt realise DD was ill at the time.)

I am going to have to take her in with me to the office in the morning then drop her of at her Nana's on my way to first customer then arrange someone to collect her from Nana's and take her home.

Its so awful - I want to be there for my kids It really is the very very worst aspect of being at work

Becca, sorry it's so awful for you. FWIW, a friend of mine had a similar experience a few years ago - first one child had chickenpox, then the second, then the third - then she got it!!!!

Three and a half weeks off work and extremely p**d off employers. It's just one of those things in life that occasionally hit you.

The good thing is, at least you know that your DD is going to be looked after by her nana, so you won't have to worry about her physical well-being.

And yes, I agree - it's the worst thing when you have to go to work and your children are sick.
