Transferred to a new country

I am working with an accountancy firm in Toronto. The company is now opening a new branch New Jersey and I have been transferred there. So I will have to shift there very soon. I am really nervous about moving there with my 2yr old. But this job is really important to me and I have to move. What are the documentations I will need for a cross border move? Can a cross-border moving company help me with the documentations?

Surely the company will organise any visas if necessary - when we hire overseas people we sort any viasa as required.

Fellow CPA in NJ here! You will need a visa. Try to get an L1 or L2 visa as easier to get a greencard. The H visas are a PItA because it's very very hard to get a greencard from that. I think after the third you are done and must leave the country if they don't give you a greencard. You need an immigration lawyer to set up the visa for you.

Speak to the NJCPA society for guidance with qualifications. You will probably also need to sit the CPA exams. If so, get the Wiley books to practice the questions and you will be fine.

Yes, the company is providing me a work visa which is being processed. I was talking about any extra documentations required for the move, sorry for not being specific. I was thinking of the permits I need to get for international moving. Thanks for the replies and @Want2bSupermum I'll definitely let you know after I have moved to NJ. I sure hope I'll love it there too.
