paying back maternity

ive decided to take the full year off and was wondering if i have to pay back maternity money if i decide not to go back to work?
i was paid 3months full
6 months half
and 3 months no pay

It depends on your policy. Each one is different.

If your policy stated that the occupational maternity pay was conditional on your return then yes you'd be due to pay back whatever was over the Smp amount.
