how do I get a CV done?

I know there are lots of templates on the net but I'm nearly 50, have had lots of different jobs and dont want to waffle on unnecessarily

I want something concise and straight to the point, using good words that I wont think of using

I need help with it, in other words, not just a template that tells me how to lay it out

any advice would be great

Not really what you're asking, but I've found the blog askamanager.org brilliant for CV advice. She's good at spelling out what you should put in, so maybe having a look could help?

Its just so long since I wrote a CV, and I know things have changed so much, I dont want to write something a but crap that'll make me look daft, I'm only after a job in retail or something so nothing high powered at all, but still want a decent looking cv to put out there.
