Am doing my cv and am looking at various bits of advice - prospect which is a cross-university careers advice website actually recommends the following description of student holiday jobs:

"A variety of customer service roles including bar work, waitressing and telesales. Developed an awareness of customer relationship management and improved my influencing skills when working with challenging clients under pressure."

Sorry but I would pmsl if anyone put that on a cv.

What are influencing skills?

"Take your hand OFF my bum, Mr Johnson, or I'm going to tip this whole plate of hot spaghetti right onto your lap!"

Oh, I thought it was code for "wearing a lowcut top" .

Seriously, is this an American CV site? They're a lot more earnest. And the CV entry does indicate that the candidate is buzzword compliant and can spin rubbish jobs into management speak gold, so to speak ...

The candidate would play a mean game of buzzword bingo...
