my work would like to refer me to occupational health specialist. shall I allow them to look into my GP file? how scare is it?

I suppose it will depend on the organisation but where I work this is very much a positive thing with OH supporting the employee.

Well, they can only take steps based on the information they have about your situation.
If you limit that information - say by not giving approval for them to access your GP records - then their decisions/actions will also be limited. And I would say that 9 times out of 10, that won't work in your favour
