Leaving NHS to work in private practice?

Based in today's election result, I highly suspect that jobs in the NHS are even less safe than they were.

Any clinical psychologists about who've started up in private practice?

I reckon everyone working in the NHS will be very nervous right now (me included). Not in your area but I hope you get some answers.

I'm also a CP. I'm just starting out in private practice but not attracted any business yet. I have quite a few friends and colleagues who do some private work so I'm sure I'll get some work at some point! I think medico-legal work is quite lucrative but I'm not feeling ready for that yet. I was prompted to get going by the recent pay deal which has frozen my pay for the next two years.

I don't want to leave the NHS but I would like a safety net.
