When to tell work - pregnant

I started a new job in February and am on probation for 6 months. I've now discovered I may well be accidently 6-8 weeks pregnant (still in denial!) and given my last pregnancy was complicated and ended up in a 7 week early c-sec I'm liable to need lots of drs appointments.

I will get some mat pay as I'll have been there over 6 months at due date (but will just miss out on the 12 months)

I'm concerned as to when to inform manager as I need to take leave for doctors appointments currently - but I'm assuming I'll be entitled to time off for appointments once I tell them... The job is going fine and I'm really enjoying it, and I won't be taking that much time off (can't afford to!), but I'm concerned about it jepodising my probation!

I would personally wait until after probation

Only problem is I'll need to be consultant led, my liver hasn't fully recovered from DS - we weren't planning on a second... Plus genetic issues and so on... And waiting another 3 months means I'll be around 6 months - and I don't have the holiday to support regular check ups and antenatal appointments...

Then you will need to tell them - legally, you don't need to tell them until you are 25 weeks, but then you don't get the protection or the rights until they know.
