my line manager and HR met me and said that I am not performing well...picked up few things and commented on my odd behaviour ( weird behaviour). Asked me a question about the mental health...asked me to go to GP to check myself. I have anxiety due to stress in life but I am trying to manage it. MY GP said OK I can work. what is next please

I'm sorry I'm not Flowery but just to keep you company while you wait, I'd say:

  • you don't have to share your medical info with your employer unless it directly affects your ability to do your job safely (which it appears your GP thinks is not the case)
  • in your meeting, were you given specific targets to improve and timescales to show this? Usually, this would be a starting requirement for any process for an employee going through a performance improvement process. The ACAS website is good to help you understand your rights and responsibilities in this. You need to know what you're being asked to work towards, and hopefully that will help you feel more in control of the situation.

I hope it all works out well for you.
