Off the top of my head I understand that parents are now entitled to take parental leave until their child is 18? Something like a total of 18 weeks per child?

Is this pro - rata? So I wouldn't be entitled to the full quota for my 8yo, or do I now have 18 shiny weeks of parental leave to take over the next few years? And is it added to the allowance for the other children? I took 6 weeks for now 6yo dd so I will have an additional 12 weeks parental leave for her?

I've been with the same employer for 4 yrs and the 6 weeks parental leave was with them.

If I'm right and I do have lots of weeks to play with it will make life as a LP a lot easier though the junior school years.

Hi sweet
Yes 18 weeks per child until they're 18. If you've had 6 weeks then you have 12 remaining until she's 18. You can take a max of 4 weeks per year.

Lovely, Thank you.

The extra weeks should tide us over nicely.
