Video Editing; a hobby or a minor business?

I've really enjoyed editing videos/show reels for DD; her friends think I'm quite good at it.

I am looking for something extra to do and was considering costume making or spreadsheets for small businesses. But I'm wondering if I should have a go at this

I've started a +ve/-ve/don't know list and so far have:

+ve
I like it

-ve
don't really know what I'm doing
& I'm guessing Ill have to buy expensive kit

Don't know
Stuff about copyright?
Insurance?

I'm assuming anyone sending me video would do so on-line & I don't risk losing their precious stuff. & if I use a 'pop' record I'll have to pay someone & I have no idea how to do that.

Also not a clue how to advertise or how much to charge (£25 a minute?)

& do I have to protect against peole copying it (I don't see why I would but when DD does a show the DVD is protected)

It's a daft idea isn't it?

I was thinking showreels for would be performers (like my DD) & when the Ballet show does their DVD seeing if I can get the best bits of your daughter dancing

Or maybe clips of baby/toddler films

Last time I started something like this I ended up with a level 7 (childcare) & before that a degree (systems anaylsis & change management) so industrious is a good word

But I'm a bit bored with my job and want something I can think about
