Job I applied for has been re-advertised

It was an attractive job but they had a very long list of requirements. I thought I met most of them and wrote a decent application but I couldn't tick every box. IMO they'd have to offer much more money to get all the experience and qualifications they wanted!

Anyway this was 2 months ago and I haven't heard anything. Today the job's been readvertised.

Does this mean I'm out of luck, or might it mean they didn't get sufficient quality applicants so are trying to widen the applicant pool before interviewing from both rounds of applicants?

I applied for a job and was interviewed and did not get the job. A few months later I got a call saying that the person they appointed had decided not to take the job and offered me another interview (I got the job that time!). So it could be that they had got as far as appointing someone then they dropped out - or it could be what you think... only one way to find out - call or re-apply if you think it is worthwhile.

Does it say previous applicants need not apply?

Model5 · 16/04/2015 14:47

No, it doesn't Noeuf, so I don't know if I'm already in the applicant bank or if I need to submit another application.

I've tried calling but the person I apparently need doesn't seem to be taking calls, which probably isn't a great sign!

Oh bummer. I would email and say that you have noticed it's been advertised, and you are still interested.

I would just re-apply and see what happens. Fingers crossed.
