How do I find a non agency live-in filipina carer for my mother in law?

My mother in law, living near Wembley, is blind and 80% deaf. She now needs a live in carer. We have been consistently told that the commitment, kindness and work ethic of Filipinas is second to none.
My mother in law still has all her faculties, is a fun person, just needs a helping hand. Can anybody suggest a route?

I'm sure you could find a committed and kind carer from any nationality. Why do you specifically want non-agency? I understand they'll take their fees, but you'll have a difficult time getting visas etc. Confused

You really can't specify a natioanlity! It's pretty racist, even if the traits you are ascribing to an entire nation are positive ones.

I would think that it would be worth investing in an agency first time you employ a carer. They should vet them etc.

I would forget prefered nationalities - you need the right person for the job. As with childcare there must be online job boards.

As mentioned above unless you want to get involved in visas etc you need someone who is already here and has the right to work.
