I'm due to start maternity leave in 8 weeks.
I've heard via my line manager that my role is likely to be transferred through TUPE. I knew I was at risk of redundancy due a big privatisation we've been trough, but thought this would be later in the year after I've had all my contractual maternity benefits. If I'm TUPEd then I would be made redundant based on distance to work I think as the new owner's organisation is based hundreds of miles away.
This hasn't been formalised by HR yet.
I'm worried that I may be in a better position if I'm already on maternity leave when any transfer or period of consultation begins.
Can anyone advise on likely timescales? There'd be fewer than 20 individuals under consultation so the legal timescales don't seem to apply. Also, am I better off on maternity or pregnant with maternity leave scheduled?
I'm not co corned about any discrimination, I just want to maximise my income over this period and minimise my stress levels.
