Any Freelance School Workshop Facilitators around these parts?

Hello,

I'm a facilitator and deliver a PHSE type workshop in secondary schools across the country. I've always worked through a charity which has sadly now lost government funding.

I absolutely love my job and am so passionate about the message we deliver, I just know I can offer a high quality course (and for a fraction of the price as I have no overheads and both develop and deliver the course), but just want to make sure I go about approaching schools in the best way, and to ensure I've ticked all the boxes before I begin.

If anyone has experience either from the school side or the facilitation side of things, I'd really appreciate any advice at all.

Basically in same line but I tend to train teachers more as the day rate is far better.
Key is to get into a few schools and word of mouth spreads, offer free sessions to PSHE leads network meetings etc. make sure you factor in travel time and costs into your costs.
Write to heads of all local schools and utilise as many networks as you can, a lot of my repeat work is through mates in schools that put me in touch with the PSHE lead etc.
good luck.

I do have a few friends who are teachers locally so that could help. I'm also in schools with the current place until July so can use that time to strengthen links with the remaining schools.

It won't be available in the area once the funding stops and the schools are saying it's what they need so hopefully I can keep going.

Good idea with the training PHSE teachers, I know that teachers have asked for that in the past but the charity didn't do it that way, so I'll give it some thought.

Thanks for that!
