Not being paid

Ds started a new job in January. He is supposed to be paid monthly at the end of the month. It's a small business, the other three employees are all partners in the business. The business seems to be doing well based on what orders are being filled and the sales being made.
The business uses an accountant who should have been paying ds his salary. She is obviously paying to the taxman on his behalf as ds has had a letter and the figures mean that tax has been paid since he left his last job but he has had no wages into the bank.
Only now he has run out of money has he mentioned it to one of the partnersHmm who apologised and drew out cash from the business direct for him whilst he sorted it and apparently went ballistic at the accountant who has been evading his calls.
The partner is going to the accountant's office today.
What could be going on? Is ds likely to get what is owed? Is the business likely to go under? Could the accountant have been pocketing ds's salary?
Any thoughts please

I think the accountant is up to no good. If the business were going under then the manager wouldn't have drawn the cash out. Hope it's all sorted asap.

That's what I'm thinking too. I've had strong words with ds who has said nothing for three months and lived off his savings instead. The partner told ds he'd sent her £6000 last week on top of wages etc so he's worried about where the money is going. He said they are insured is that possible?
