Advice on going back on income support

Hi I'm a single mum to my son who is 2 and a half and I'm currently working part time. However I have handed in my notice as I plan to set up my own business but need to go back on income support until I get it organised. However I'm slightly concerned that I won't be allowed back on income support because I have given up my job. Does anyone know if I will have any problems about going back on income support? Thanks in advance

To be honest I would be very surprised if the government paid income support to people who decide to give up their job because they fancy starting their own business but don't have the capital needed to do so.

Most people who start their own business either do so while still working another job, or spend time saving enough to ensure they can cover outgoings until such time as their business will be profitable.

But I don't know the rules so I might be wrong.

I've been on and off income support for the last few years. Never had a problem going back on it when i've left a job. DS has a disability so i don't know if that makes a difference as i've always left due to issues with him.
I think its just jobseekers where you have to wait a few weeks after leaving before you can apply.
