Can remote working work?

I've been trying to hire a digital marketing manager to grow our Belfast based start up - see blog.komodomath.com/dmm/ - but haven't found the right person.

I'm considering widening the search to someone working remotely in the UK. Does anyone have any advice, tips about managing a remote team. Does it work?

I do marketing remotely for a client in a different city - so yes it can work. I would suggest a kick off meeting in person, but after that remote should work.
