CV query

I am applying for an internal promotion but have been in the same company for over 20 years and need to refresh my cv.

Should I put a brief personal profile statement at the start of the CV? Opinion seems to be divided on whether this is the done thing or not. Hobbies and interests - is it best to include these or not?

I know that I should limit it to no more than 2 pages but any other advice or suggestions would be much appreciated.

I wouln't put hobbies and interests unless they were relevant. Voluntary work for example.

No to both.

I'd do a profile at the beginning, different roles and skills within your company, highest educational qualification (ie, if you've got a degree, don't mention o-levels) and then finish if off with CDP/training. No hobbies or interests.

Thanks all. I've only got o levels and a work related NVQ as I started there at age 16 when I left school so I'll have to include them.Glad about not mentioning hobbies and interests as I didn't feel they were really relevant.
