Increasing my hours at work from 3 days per week to 4, now having second thoughts......

With effect from Jan next year. Could not justify 2 days at home when ds is at full time school. (not an attack on SAHM's btw, just how I feel)

So I'll be working 4 days term time and 3 days in school holidays, plus I got a pay rise, and negotiated 6 days extra hols for BH (even if I choose to work Fri instead of Mon)

NOw I'm thinking about housework, me time, shoping etc. Arrrgh.

I know there are loads of you out there who do it, and more.

Am being silly me thinks. I'll still have 1 day per week to myself. And I love my job so that helps!

I've recently increased from 3 days to 4, and so far it's been ok. I do work 1 day from home though which is great! dd not at school yet, she goes next sept. The house isn't as tidy as we'd like, but if you have a rota you get the main things done.
Your arrangement sounds fine northerner, I would stick with it and see how it goes!

I think it sounds sensible northerner and I do believe what Happymum says, if you have two days instead of one you won't actually get more done, just take longer to do it!

I desperately DON'T want to increase my hours when DS at FT school in January, but that is only because I want to have the time for the first time since he's been born, to attempt to start my jewellery making 'business' that I have dreamt about for years; I don't want the time just to do more housework!

Hope you enjoy it and the extra money!
