Are you good at following strict protocols, give an example of a protocol at your current employment.
Describe your experience & how it will fit with the clinical role.

What do you do currently?

jimijack · 21/02/2015 11:03

You will really need to expand on your current role as you need a tonne of varied experience because of the different calls you will be dealing with.
They like to know that you are capable of flexibility, working under strict and very tight time constrains, that you are not phased by much and that you are always willing to seek advice when not sure.
Patient safety is paramount so you need to talk about that allot.

With all of the negative press recently, you need to demonstrate that you are aware of the philosophy and reason for the service, that is vital.
Good luck, it's a fab job for a short time, I miss patients face to face contact now.

I went for interviews too for the 111, they gave me written scenarios, then we discussed them in the interview. The shift patterns can be odd I think, I got the first job but then moved away so when I applied again in my new area they wanted me to work 4 weekends out of 5......Er no thanks!!

jimijack · 21/02/2015 20:19

It's mostly out of hours so weekends & evening's are part & parcel & where the money is.

Scenarios will be part of the interview, familiarize yourself with the pathways system. That will help.

Day surgery is a good place to work as you will see lots of the kind of stuff people ring up about. Expand on that as much as possible.

You won't believe the things people contact 111 about...it's mind blowing!
