Employee contracts!

We have two employees who I recently noticed have not signed and returned their contracts, I am sure they will if I insist, they are young mums, busy with home life, but does it matter so much as long as they have the contracts?

Are there any implications legally for us if they don't sign?

It's always better to get employees to sign and return the contract, because it reduces any argument at a later stage that they don't agree to the terms. However, if no objection has been raised to the contract, and the employee is working in accordance with the terms, they could be deemed to have accepted the contract anyway. I would suggest you just go back to the employees and ask if they could sign and return the documentation. Amazing how many people forget or do not realise that they need to do this.

Thank you Izzy - that is helpful advice, I imagine they just forgot about it!
